Public Safety investigates shooting at Zap Zone
The Farmington Public Safety Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at Zap Zone located at 31506 Grand River. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 24 at approximately 8:20 PM.
Farmington Public Safety Officers were dispatched to Zap Zone after numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting gunfire with potentially three victims. Responding officers arrived within minutes and found numerous spent shell casings in the parking lot and many patrons of the business getting into their vehicles and leaving. Officers made entry into the business and were unable to locate any victims or evidence that anyone was struck by the gun fire.
Director Ted Warthman said, “Although the investigation is ongoing, it is clear after reviewing the surveillance video at the business that the intended victim of the shooting was targeted. Detectives are continuing to work with the business reviewing additional surveillance video and collecting evidence.”
At this time, no victims have come forward or been located. The suspects in the shooting are 6 black males, who entered a black Dodge Ram pickup and fled the scene on eastbound Grand River.
The public safety department will provide additional updates on this incident as they become available.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Matt Miracle at 248-474-5500 ext. 2239.
