The Farmington Road Streetscape Project is a multi-million dollar infrastructure improvement made possible with a million dollar federal TAP grant through MDOT. We will keep you updated as this project unfolds; it has been a top priority among residents for more than a decade.
Farmington Road now closed for Streetscape Project
Farmington Road is now completely close from Grand River Avenue to Orchard Street for the duration of the Farmington Road Streetscape Project. While the Farmington Road Streetscape project will significantly impact traffic, the benefits will only heighten the community’s vibrancy.
The project is anticipated to last until late fall this year. We ask that everyone please adhere to the posted signage for detours around the construction site. The project includes street, sidewalk, and utility improvements as well as enhanced pedestrian connections, accessibility, and safety.
The construction will also impact Founders Festival, which will again be held in the downtown. The festival, including its kids area and crafters market, will be strategically moved to a parking area adjacent to Farmington Road and along Warner Street.
Businesses along Farmington Road will remain open during the project!!!
*additional pedestrian detour signage will be added around the site in the near future
