Floral Park Larceny From Vehicle Suspect Arrested
Release date: 7/13/2012
The Farmington Public Safety Department has arrested a suspect in connection with the string of larcenies from automobiles (LFAs) that occurred in the Floral Park subdivision between June 19 and July 3, 2012. Joseph Lee Danko, a 20 year old Dearborn Heights resident, was arrested by Farmington detectives early this morning at his father’s home in Dearborn Heights.
Farmington investigators identified Danko as a suspect after his fingerprints were found on an object left behind in one of the victim’s vehicles. Danko has been charged with one count of larceny from automobile, a five (5) year felony. Farmington detectives are continuing their investigation and awaiting crime lab results in order to tie Danko to six (6) other LFAs that occurred on Violet Street.
Farmington Public Safety Commander Frank Demers credited the excellent work of the responding officers and the detectives who took their time to process evidence which ultimately led to the identity of the suspect.
The Farmington Public Safety Department reminds residents to lock their car doors and remove valuable items from vehicles when parked overnight. Please report any suspicious persons, vehicles or situations in your neighborhood to the Farmington Public Safety Department immediately.
Danko was arraigned before 47th District Court Magistrate Carl Christoff where he entered a plea of not guilty. Bond has been set at $2000 cash/surety. Danko was ordered to the Oakland County Jail pending his pre-exam conference on July 18, 2012 at 1:30pm before Judge Parker.
