Press Release

Sign Up for the 2011 Warnerettes!

Release date: 4/6/2011

Pic-Warnerettes.jpgWomen of all ages are invited to join the Governor Warner Mansion Warnerettes to march in the Farmington Founders Festival Parade on Saturday, July 17, 2011. We are a Suffragette-style parasol drill team, honoring Michigan Governor Fred Warner’s commitment to women’s right to vote in the early 1900’s. Founded in 2009, we enjoy the fun and precision of a parasol drill team, celebrating Farmington history, wearing “Gibson Girl” outfits, walking in the parade and the opportunity to make new friends. You don’t have to live in Farmington to participate nor do you need prior drill team skills. The routines are simple and fun. The first meeting is Monday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m., at the Governor Warner Mansion on Grand River, just west of Farmington Road. Bring a full-size, manual-opener, U-curved handle, black umbrella, if possible. If you have questions, please call Sharon at (248) 474-3262.
