Bank Robbery at Charter One Bank

Pic-BankRobberySuspect.jpgOn October 17, 2011, at about 1:00 p.m., the Farmington Public Safety Department responded to the Charter One Bank, located at 23220 Farmington Road on a reported robbery. Officers learned that a bank teller was approached by a suspect who implied they were armed with a weapon and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money from the bank teller and fled on foot.

Farmington Public Safety officers searched the area and were assisted by Farmington Hills Police Department K-9 unit. While searching the area, a wig, sunglasses, coat and bag were found in a nearby parking lot.

The suspect was described as a white female, 20 to 30 years old, 5’1” – 5’3” tall, medium build. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie (recovered), black sunglasses (recovered), black wig (recovered) and white shoes.
Director Robert Schulz stated, “Thankfully no employees or citizens were harmed during the robbery.

Farmington Public Safety Detectives will be working with the FBI to try and locate the responsible person(s).” This is the first bank robbery since October 2009.
